As the coordinator of the Hawaii Ag Leadership Program for 25 years, I have worked with many successful agricultural and rural community leaders in our intensive, 18-month program. Michelle Galimba is, without question, one of the best Ag Leaders I have ever had. She is a seasoned leader who is respected in her community as well as across the state.

Michelle is not only dedicated to her Ka’u ranch, she also serves or has served on many industry and state boards. Michelle does her homework and comes to meetings ready to ask insightful questions and provide thoughtful contributions. I’m always amazed that, no matter how busy she is, she always follows through on her commitments to the Ag Leadership board that we serve on together.

Michelle has a quiet presence and a positive outlook that elevates her interactions with others. When she speaks, she is frequently bringing up an issue that has not been considered or reminding the group of its responsibility to represent the voices that can’t be at the table. I have no doubt that she will be a tremendous asset to the County Council of Hawai’I Island.
